Why Constipation is bad for Hormone Health - Free 5-day Constipation Meal plan

farnazdroodgar

Constipation is bad for your health, and if someone told you no need to go every day, they are wrong!

Your body is exposed to and generates waste (toxins) all the time. Things like chemicals in food (including natural ones), solvents, pesticides, herbicides, plastics, mercury, lead, mold, parasites, bacteria, medications, alcohol, tobacco, excess hormones, chemicals from personal care items and cleaning products, fragrances, fuel pollutants, and even simple things like acetaminophen and excess hormones have to go through the liver.

Once the liver finishes the 2 phases of detoxification, next comes elimination: you have to pee, poop, and sweat them out.

Whatever doesn't go out the door stays and makes you feel yucky. You may get:

  • Headaches

  • Estrogen Dominance

  • PMS symptoms

  • Low thyroid function

  • Bloating & gas

  • Weight gain (Difficulty to lose weight)

  • Migraines

  • Fatigue

  • Brain fog

  • Bad breath

  • Body odor

  • Joint and muscle pains

  • Itching

  • Eczema

  • Hives

  • Mood swings

  • Depression

  • Digestive upsets

  • Low immune function

You need to poop every single day to finish the liver's job and maintain healthy gut function.

If your normal is to go 2-3 times a week, please know it's not normal and likely the reason you're not feeling so great. I know this is something most people don’t discuss in public.

I’m going to leave you with some tips that make up the foundation for eliminating constipation. But if your problem is severe and chronic, you need a personalized approach that looks for root causes and offers long-term and safe solutions–not laxatives!

Today you can start with these:

  • Chew food well. Count to 20 or put the fork down. Whatever helps you slow down.

  • Get fluids from food like soup, veggies, salads, or fresh (or frozen) fruit-- but not bananas. Bananas can make you constipated! Dried fruit is ok but you miss out on the water

  • Easy on bread, rice, pastries, and fried & starchy foods. Too many meats can also cause constipation.

  • Drink room temperature water and away from meals.

  • Drink coffee. Yes, coffee can stimulate muscle contractions in the gut so you can go!

  • Go for a walk

  • Shred ginger root and add to hot water. Drink between meals or before going to bed.
